On July 21, 2022, voting on the future fate of the coat of arms of the USSR on the Motherland monument was completed in Diya. According to the voting results, almost all participants want to replace it with the Coat of Arms of Ukraine.
On May 3, 2023, the Verkhovna Rada passed a law allowing the dismantling of Soviet and imperial cultural monuments. On July 13, the State Inspection of Architecture and Urban Planning issued a permit to replace the coat of arms of the USSR on the shield of the monument with a Ukrainian trident. The construction company "OSNOVA" has been entrusted with the work. We did it! The coat of arms was installed for the Independence Day of Ukraine. It was difficult: rain, hurricane-force winds, abnormal heat, a height of 104 meters. But thanks to the efforts of our guys and related organizations, everything was done on time. We thank them for their dedicated work and wish them health, happiness in the family and a peaceful sky.
